Flight Cancellations

To be eligible for Cancelled Flight Compensation under the UK261 or EU261 laws, several conditions must be met.

  • If your flight is delayed by more than 5 hours, you have the right to abandon your flight, and receive a refund
  • If your flight delay means that you reach your destination more than 3 hours late, you may also be able to pursue a resolution

Please Note: If the airline notified you about the cancellation 14 days or more before the flight, you are not eligible for compensation.

If your airline, or the airport/s you used, have refused, ignored, or otherwise left you unsatisfied after you made a complaint to them, you can escalate matters for FREE with AviationADR.

The amount of Cancelled Flight Compensation ranges between €250-600 Euros – or £110-£520 GBP -, and depends on many factors, including:

  • The distance between your original point of departure and your final destination
  • The length of the delay if you agreed to a re-routing or alternate flight
  • Whether your flight was in the EU or not.
