Complain about a delayed flight

Flight Delays

Under UK and EU law, you could be entitled to compensation if the flight you were booked on has been delayed.

To be eligible for Delayed Flight Compensation under the UK261 or EU261 laws, your flight must have arrived at its final destination 3 or more hours late.

Please Note: It is the arrival time that matters: if your flight departed more than 3 hours after the scheduled time but arrived less than 3 hours late, you are not entitled to compensation.

Assistance

If your flight has been delayed by 2 hours or more, you’re likely entitled to food and drink from the airline, appropriate for the delay.

If your airline, or the airport/s you used, have refused, ignored, or otherwise left you unsatisfied after you made a complaint to them, you can escalate matters for FREE with AviationADR.

Compensation

The amount of Delayed Flight Compensation ranges between £220-£520 GBP, and depends on many factors, including:

  • The distance between your original point of departure and your final destination
  • The length of the delay if you agreed to a re-routing or alternate flight
  • Whether your flight was in the EU or not.
