How to complain about an airline in the UK

My flight with a UK airline/airport was disrupted, what can I do?

Before filing your complaint with AviationADR, you need to raise your complaint with the airline/airport directly in writing, and either have received a final written response (otherwise known as a ‘deadlock letter’), or given the airline/airport eight (8) weeks to respond. AviationADR can only deal with unresolved complaints.

What complaints can AviationADR deal with?

AviationADR can accept complaints about commercial flights operated by an airline to or from a UK airport. Please advise, the airline/airport has to be one of our members for you to be able to file your complaint with us.

We can deal with most unresolved disputes between passengers and airlines, including disputes in relation to:

  • Denied boarding, delayed or cancelled flights
  • Damaged, lost or delayed luggage
  • Destruction, damage or loss of items worn or carried by a passenger
  • Problems faced by disabled passengers or passengers with reduced mobility
  • Issues of unfair trading
  • Pricing
  • Misrepresentation
